PRIVATE HORSE RIDING LESSONS
At Double C Ranch, our riding lessons are not just about learning to ride, but also about forging a deep connection, allowing you to experience the incredible bond between horse and rider.
Join us for our riding and horsemanship classes, tailored to your needs and skill level.
Our Riding Lessons
At Double C Ranch, riding lessons go beyond the saddle. Every student learns both riding and horsemanship — because understanding your horse from the ground up is what makes a complete rider.
Whether you're a child or an adult, a first-time rider or looking to take your skills to the next level, you're welcome here. Our program follows three membership levels — Bronze, Silver, and Gold — each designed to match your commitment and goals. From building a strong foundation to competing and leasing, you'll progress through a structured curriculum rooted in German riding methodology and aligned with United States Pony Club standards.
With small group sizes, well-trained performance horses, and a supportive environment, our focus is on real skill development — not just seat time. We're here to help you grow as a rider and build a genuine connection with your horse.

Our Riding Lesson Tiers
Bronze Membership 1 Riding Lesson per Week | 1 Horsemanship Lesson per Week
Bronze is the foundation level. Students develop correct basics in riding and horse care while building confidence, responsibility, and understanding of the horse.
Includes:
- 1 structured riding lesson per week
- 1 structured horsemanship lesson per week (Pony Club standards)
- Skill tracking and competency-based progression
- Access to DCR Academy curriculum
Ideal for: Beginners and developing riders who need strong fundamentals and consistent structure.
Silver Membership 2 Riding Lessons per Week | 1 Horsemanship Lesson per Week
Silver is for riders who are serious about improvement. With increased saddle time, students advance faster in balance, position, and control while continuing to build knowledge and independence on the ground. Silver is also the minimum level required to show.
Includes:
- 2 structured riding lessons per week
- 1 horsemanship lesson per week
- Goal setting and measurable progression
- Certification pathway (Pony Club alignment)
- Eligibility to compete and represent Double C Ranch at shows
Ideal for: Committed riders who want faster progress, stronger technical development, and the opportunity to compete.
Gold Membership — Half Lease Up to 4 Days Per Week
Gold is our half lease level. Riders are paired with a lease horse and get the experience of having their own horse — without the full commitment of ownership. All of our horses are performance horses — most shown or raised by DCR — including German Warmbloods, American Quarter Horses, and OTTBs. Every horse is very well trained. There is the option to show your lease horse in competition.
Whether you're a competitive rider looking for more saddle time, someone who loves the bond of having a dedicated horse, or a rider who wants to enjoy 250 acres of maintained trails through woods and open farmland on your own schedule — Gold is for you.
Includes:
- 1 private or semi-private riding lesson per week (rider may ride a different lesson horse — doesn't have to be their lease horse)
- Up to 4 unsupervised hack days per week on your lease horse
- Access to 250 acres of maintained trails through woods and open farmland
- Option to show your lease horse in competition
- 1 Horsemanship class
Ideal for: Riders who want the experience of having their own horse — for competition, personal growth, trail riding, or simply the joy of a dedicated partnership.
